Rooney the final headliner for Dfest
"Rooney, the latest headliner, is a five piece, influenced by bands such as the Beach Boys, Superdrag, ELO, Blur and the group's hometown of L.A. It's toured with acts such as Weezer, Kelly Clarkson and the Vines.
Rooney joins Cake, Mates of State, Ra Ra Riot, Dengue Fever, the Cool Kids, Carney, Ian Moore, Here II Here, Manda Mosher. the Black Crowes, Ozomatli, The Knux, Dub Trio, Blue October, Gogol Bordello, Citizen Cope, Bassnectar, Gringo Star, the Uglysuit, Rachelle Van Zanten, Joe Pug, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, DJ Rekha, Bill Hamel, Delta Spirit and Other Lives, as well as a bumper crop of emerging and local and regional artists.
Dfest music conference and festival is July 24-25 in the Blue Dome District of downtown Tulsa."

Rooney Leaves Geffen Records
"Hi everybody. We are pleased and excited to announce our split with Geffen records after seven years together. What does it mean for us? Happiness, renewed energy, relief. What does this mean for you? Most likely it will mean a much more prolific band as we no longer need to work at the snail pace of a major...anyone remember our 2 year mysterious disappearing act? Well hopefully, that won't be an issue ever again. We built our own studios and have recorded 14 songs thus far. We believe it is our most exciting music to date. As soon as we finish it up, we'll be back out on the road with this 3rd installation hot off the presses. Miss you all and can't wait to return.

Muirstock 2009
Last night, Rooney played a show at Muirstock 2009 at UCSD. Unfortunately, we did not have very
much advance notice of this show, but on the bright side, a number of videos have made their way to YouTube.

"Thursday, April 23, 2009 marks the birthday of the legendary Roy Orbison and musicians around the world are celebrating his life and music at a concert and CD release launch. The songs will be available worldwide on iTunes on April 27."
Rooney recorded "You Got It" for this CD and I encourage all Rooney fans to buy it on iTunes on April 27! This was a great opportunity for the band and they were all extremely happy to be a part of something so great! Spread the word!

Recording Update From Robert
Robert posted the following bulletin on MySpace today to update everyone on the album:
"Hello Friends,
I'm not sure how much everyone knows about what we're up to these days, so I want to bring you all into the circle of trust. We've been in the studio for a few weeks now, producing and engineering the record ourselves. I have a little studio in Los Angeles and it feels like home for the band. So far, we're very happy with the way it's sounding and feeling. . . we' re anxious to get it mixed and mastered and in your hands. Once that happens, then it's back on the road!!!
Time is flying by. It feels like we were just on the road, but when I look at my calendar, that was last summer. Anyway, we just want you all to know that we're working on getting new music out asap and looking forward to performing the new material. There's lots of other good things happening around the band...I'll tell you all about it when it's for realsies.

Robert Blogs About Castledoor
Yesterday, Robert posted a blog on his
SOLOBOB MySpace about Castledoor, a band from Los Angeles that will be releasing their first
full-length album, Shouting at Mountains, on April 21. Robert had the pleasure of working
with Castledoor in his home studio.
"We cut one song together called Fifth Tambourine and the next day I went to see them live.
First off, they all played great in the studio and the recording instantly came to life. Their
live show blew me away...truly inspiring. Nate, the lead singer, has an amazing voice and
performs with real energy, not fake energy, like planned, but the real stuff, like passion and
love. The songs were all memorable and filled with great parts and lyrics. I was happy to have
met such a great band. We went in the following week and started recording the album. In a total
of 8 action packed days, we finished recording and mixing 11 songs."

Iron Man: Armored Adventures
On April 24, 2009, a new show, Iron Man: Armored Adventures will be launching on the Nicktoons Network, and Rooney lent their talents to recording the theme song! The music video will begin airing on March 29, and a full episode sneak peek will be available online April 17.
"Inside his remarkable invention, Tony Stark is geared for high-speed flight, high-tech battles and high-octane adventure! He is a new hero for the digital age, a mechanized knight in ever-evolving, adaptable armor. He is...IRON MAN! Landing on Nicktoons Network on April 24th at 7:00 pm ET."

On March 14, 2009, Rooney appeared as a special guest on VH1's Top 20 Countdown.

to submit your own, you can do so through the contact form. There
is an option to attach a file up to 5 MB in size (preferably a ZIP file). If your pictures are larger than that, you can send them
in several batches, or just send me a quick note through the form and I will tell you where to send the pictures to.
I really appreciate all the submissions!
If you have a Twitter account, I have created
one for the street team and would love if you added me and said hello! If you're not
familiar with Twitter, I'd describe it as Facebook status updates without the Facebook. You
create a mini-profile and then keep your "followers" updated on what you're doing. You can
also "follow" other people and read their updates. I thought it would be a quick and easy
way to keep you all updated on what's happening with the team.
